THE LADY BAY POP UP CAFE

The Lady Bay Pop Up Cafe is me, Virender Rose. Inspired by my childhood love of home-cooked food, I create artisan Indian meals from my kitchen in the heart of Nottingham’s Lady Bay neighbourhood.

I’ve been professionally developing food and beverage ranges for all of the supermarkets all my working life, but when I was furloughed in Spring 2020, I decided to turn my passion & dream into a business – making the wholesome, tasty dishes that my family loves for sale to the public.

MISSION

My mission for my Pop Up is to provide food that’s authentic, exciting, healthy and affordable. Vegan dishes feature boldly on my menus. I’m also committed to sustainability – minimising waste and using environmentally friendly packaging.

FOOD

Starting with carefully sourced ingredients, my menu includes fresh interpretations of well-known Indian dishes – tandoori, dahls, okra, baby aubergines, saag, aloo gobi and more, to classics that will be less familiar – charred butternut squash, mango chicken, courgette fritters,  baby pumpkins, beetroot & cumin, kar-hee, green masala kofta, rubied chicken, gunpowder potatoes & sprouts – along with the excitement of contemporary street food – masala dosa, pomegranate chaat, mango & sprouting grain salads, Indian slaw, vada pastries, chilli tofu, pickles, chutneys and so much more.

Lady Bay Pop up also offers desserts along with your meal – from cardamom rice pudding with honeycomb & blueberry compote to Alfonso mango & rum crumble, triple ginger cheesecake to chocolate hazelnut mousse and more.

Dinners come chilled, with simple heating instructions so that they can be prepared in a matter of minutes.

If you’d like to see what I’m creating in my kitchen each week, then please find me over on facebook
